This weekend it was Romance on the High Seas. Doris' first movie and the only movie she smokes in (See comments). She was actually a heavy smoker in real life until her late 20s which is so surprising to me. She really does have a goody goody image even to those of us who didn't grow up with her.
I like this movie. The songs aren't great, but Doris is certainly fun to watch in this one--alternating between high society and nightclub singer persona. She really was a natural in front of the camera.

What a great thing to do. To watch all of Doris Day's movies in order.
She was a star from the very beginning. She did smoke in several others, off hand I can think of: Tea for Two, Julie, Glass BottomBoat, Young Man with a Horn.
How many movies do you have?
Oh, thanks for the correction. I have seen the Rock Hudson-Doris Day movies many times and a few others and I'd never seen her smoke in any of them. It was quite shocking for me to see her smoking although I know it was very common for many actors and actresses.
I own the Rock Hudson-Doris Day set and Young at Heart plus my mom has an extensive collection. And the rest, I will get from Netflix. Any other movies you recommend?
